Les Chênes Verts
Les Chênes Verts is a stone house in the Luberon Valley which has been completely renovated throughout. Accommodation comprises of 4 bedrooms and bathrooms, large kitchen, utility room, spacious sitting room and dining room. The house is detached in landscaped grounds with a heated swimming pool and views of the Luberon mountains. It is situated on the outskirts of a small, quiet village called Cabrieres d'Avignon. The 'golden triangle' of Gordes, Menerbes and Bonnieux and the picturesque villages of Lacoste, Goult and Rousillion are only a few minutes drive away.
Cabrieres d'Avignon
Cabrieres d'Avignon is a small, quiet and authentic village favoured by families and locals, with medieval honey coloured stone houses. The village has its own bakery, butcher, newsagent, post office and restaurant - all just seven or eight minutes walk from the house. There is a cedar forest, Les Cedres, for walking or cycling just a short walk away, where there is a bar, restaurant and live music on some summer evenings. Cabrieres d'Avignon is a five minute drive from the famous hilltop village of Gordes in one direction, and the same distance from Coustellet in the opposite direction, which while less picturesque, has all the amenities you may need during your stay - supermarket, petrol station, restaurants and a bank.
Accommodation
Entrance Hall and Kitchen
The exterior of the entrance hall has been designed to echo the style of a Provencale pigeonnier. Inside it is double height with a stone floor and archway leading through to the kitchen and staircase leading to the first floor.
In the kitchen there is an island unit and granite worktops throughout. There is a range cooker, American style fridge freezer, dishwasher and double sink. An outside door leads to the terrace. The utility room off the kitchen has another dishwasher together with washing machine, tumble drier, microwave and another sink.
Dining Room and Sitting Room
The dining room leads off the kitchen. There is a large dining table with seating for ten. Three French doors open from the dining room onto the terrace.
The sitting room has a fireplace, two sofas and additional seating. There is broadband internet / WiFi, a TV with Blu-ray/DVD player, a satellite TV box receiving some UK freeview channels and a Bose CD player. There is a wide selection of English DVDs and CDs for guests to use.
Off the dining room is a small bureau with sofa and desk, TV with terrestrial French TV, UK freeview satellite, and WiFi.
Bedroom 1
The downstairs bedroom has a kingsize bed and french doors which open out on to a secluded terrace. The ensuite bathroom has shower, WC, vanity unit and heated towel rail.
Master Bedroom
All three upstairs bedrooms are air-conditioned.
The master bedroom has a king size bed, and double aspect views to the Luberon mountains. The master ensuite has a shower, bath, WC, double vanity unit, heated towel rail and also views over the Luberon.
Bedrooms 2 and 3
The two other upstairs bedrooms have air conditioning. Bedroom 2 has twin beds and a view over the Luberon. The bathroom has a Vanity unit, WC, shower and heated towel rail.
Bedroom 3 is situated down a corridor which can be closed off for extra privacy. There are twin beds and Luberon views. The ensuite bathroom has a Vanity unit, WC, shower and heated towel rail.
Garden and Pool
The property is accessed through electric gates and the garden is fenced. There is covered parking for two cars, and additional parking for several more.
The garden itself is made up of olive groves and a more formal lawn with planting. There is a covered terrace with table and chairs providing dining for eight to ten and a Weber gas barbeque.
There is shaded seating under the trees, an area that can be lit at night and alongside this is a gravelled area that can be used for boules games.
The pool is 5m x 10m, the maximum depth is 1.6m. At one end, there is a 1m x 5m tiled shallow 'beach', making it particularly suitable for younger children. For extra security, there is a rigid electrically operated pool cover. There are six sun loungers and two reclining sun chairs. The pool can be heated during the cooler months for an additional cost.
