Booking a villa in France from a web site can be fraught with difficulties. One never knows just what one will get. However, from our first contact with Belinda following our inquiry, to our warm welcome from Meggie, on site, late at night, we knew we had made the right decision. During our three week stay we had the place to ourselves for the first two, then we were joined by my brother and his wife from Scotland for the final week. A four bedroom villa for two couples? Extravagant? Yes, but absolutely worth it! The villa, built in Provencal style, but renovated and extended by Belinda and Andrew in the most tasteful and comfortable way, was an absolute dream. Beautifully furnished and equipped with everything that one would want made every day delightful. The large, totally private, garden with its olive orchard, shaded seating areas and fantastic swimming pool made waking up every morning a total joy. The village centre of Cabrieres d’Avignon was a short walk away (with a great little bistro) and many of the nearby villages were an easy car ride on market days. Good supermarkets exist down the road at Coustellet and in the lovely river town of L’Isle sur la Sorgue, only 15 minutes away and a “must” visit. With a bit of luck we will be back!
The Meadows Family - Australia, June 2015
This is the second time we have been privileged to call Les Chenes Verts our 'home in Provence', and again, everything was perfect. It is probably our last trip as a family as our parents are getting older. And it was their choice to stay in your house as they just love it so much. The house is very much a home - with all of the comforts of home. The location is central to all of our favourite villages, and despite our visit being early April, we managed to dip our toes into the gorgeous pool. The view to Gordes from our bedroom window was the icing on the cake. Thank you again.

Les Chenes Verts is even more beautiful in reality than it looks in the pictures - it really doesn't feel like a rental property but as though you are staying as a guest in someone's very comfortable home (which of course you are!). The property has been renovated to an exceptional standard and has everything you could need during your stay. The pool is great and the children loved it. Dealing with Belinda was an absolute pleasure with emails answered promptly and completely and Meggie was a delight to deal with on check in and departure. The village of Cabrieres d'Avignon is typical of the region but it doesn't attract the same level of visitors as Gordes or some of the other villages so it feels more authentically lived in. The local store, boulangerie and charcuterie are all excellent and within walking distance as is Le Vieux Bistrot which we highly recommend. The Sunday market in Coustellet is also worth a visit and Coustellet itself has a reasonable supermarket for anything else you need. The village is well located for visiting the Luberon and the historical attractions at Avignon, Arles and Nimes. We had a wonderful stay and can't wait to go back.
The Pickfords - London, August 2015
We arrived at Les Chenes Verts on a wet and windy Saturday in June and were warmly greeted by Meggie who explained that this was slightly unusual for that time of the year and promised us blue skies and sunshine for the next 2 weeks-she did not disappoint! As soon as we walked into the house, we fell in love! Not only is it a beautifully and tastefully restored house, its real beauty is in its warmth and soul! It is understated and elegant, yet comfortable and inviting!! It flows happily from room to room and the garden, terrace and pool area is equally charming! The house was spotlessly clean, and even though we had a thorough introduction from Meggie, everything was easy to find, use etc...... just what you want from a 'holiday rental'. Our two weeks were spent visiting the markets, villages and still our firm favourite villages are Menerbes, Goult and Lourmarin but we also discovered Cucuron (watch A Good Year on DVD-we did three times!) which is absolutely charming! We will always cherish our early evening boules contests under the trees and then watching the sun go down behind the hills with a glass of wine-magical! Thank you Belinda for letting us enjoy your beautiful home-we will definitely return!

A Return to Provence
This was our 2nd visit to the wonderful Les Chênes Verts. We first spent a magical week in late August 2016 and vowed to return! It is hard to describe how 'at home' this house immediately makes you feel - but I will describe our visit in the hope of conveying our delight! It is immaculately furnished, with great taste, and contains absolutely everything needed to make a holiday perfect. Our age range was from mid sixties down to late teenagers and every single one of the six of us agreed that this was one of the best holidays of our lives. Every morning, to be able to walk to the bakery to collect fresh, warm bread and pastries was a great way to start the day. Later in the day after cooking an evening meal together - sometimes eaten outside on the terrace; sometimes by candlelight in the magnificent dining room; adjourning to play a competitive games of boules/petanque on the lower terrace or badminton on the lawn. Still later on a game of chess or cards in the comfy sitting room - and then off to bed in the beautiful bedrooms. Also sometimes sitting out in the starlight with a glass of wine, just watching the amazing scenery - also to be able to throw open the shutters in the morning and watch the sun rise over the massif - balm to the soul! Our dealings with the owners and their representatives at the house have been swift, cordial, and very informative. They are perfect hosts and I would recommend them to anyone - in fact we love the house so much we are going back for 2 weeks in 2018!
